March 2008 - Dark Minimalism - black rectangular geometric format - division of space - contour lines both circular & rectangular - gray & black non-color palette - I used contour line mode to create this very dark mandala which deals with death - in the very center of the mandala I used a stock star from my art program but completely changed it to what I wanted to look like by changing all the settings for it - I then used the same non-colors as I have used for the entire piece - I used contour line mode to help created it also - I set the main rectangular contour just inside from the edges of the main format in order to create a black border for the piece - I did this so the piece would have a clean & finished presentation - this is very clean & pristine piece which contains no clutter

omg the full-view is sooo 3D, like an optical illusion.. and the message is powerfull, this somehow a bit scary piece to me... But magnificent!

thanks for the nice comments on this very disturbing piece - the 3D effect comes from using contour line mode - it is not very easy to use but I had to use it for this very dark piece - thanks for the comment on how powerful the message is - this piece was a very hard one to create - I tried so many different ways to approach it was not even funny - I have been working on it for 2 days & today it finally came together - I had to strip it down to the basics & this made it work - death is a very tough message is to get across & with what you are saying to me is that I did succeed in porvoking some much needed thought on this subject we do not like to think about at all - thank you for the comment about this truly dark & alarming piece - I needed to make a new mandala & had not yet dealt with dearth in any of them prior ones I have made - I am very please you see it as being magnificent - I am curring trying to come up with one for rebirth like what happens during spring but I have no images in my head right now - I had none for this one either but it finally came around today when I took it down to its bones which are lines - you know I love lines so this satisfied me - I just finished making it & had to get it up here - I knew it would not go over in the skyebluemoon gallery but for some odd reason my dark minimalism works in this one - I do not know why but it does - thanks again My Dear Friend for your great support & comments on such a disturbing piece - I have another piece in this gallery which is another death star & it is much lighter & not as intense as this one is - you can find it in my stars folder if you want to see it - it is truly a beautiful piece - thanks again hun :) :sun: & MOON
